As she approached the sign, the mother recognized a photograph. Her own father—her grandfather—smiling from a hospital bed after a stroke. Next to it were pictures of the neighborhood and the outline of a community initiative focused on reading.

The two teenagers had planned everything together: to launch a reading workshop at the community center run by Noah's grandmother. The grandfather, a retired schoolteacher, could choose the books, lead the sessions, and find his place again. To be involved in something once more.
The board detailed deadlines, shared responsibilities, an estimated budget, a letter to the neighbors to collect books. And an entire section, written by the daughter, entitled * "How to make it fun" *.
