The lesson she wasn't expecting
"Do you do this every Sunday?" she asked, her voice trembling.
His daughter agreed. They wanted to make sure the project was solid before discussing it.
She sat on the bed, distraught. All her assumptions had just crumbled at once. She had come in fearing trouble and had found generosity.
"Forgive me," she murmured. "I should have trusted you."
That evening, she looked at these two young people in a new light. No longer as children to be watched over, but as beings already capable of taking care of others with real maturity.
Sometimes, a closed door doesn't hide a problem โ it shelters something beautiful taking shape.
